The powerplant is the heart of the helicopter. We offer a choice of four engines, to suit the mission profile of the owner. Depending on location, fuel availability and preference for piston or turbine, there is ample flexibility to configure the ideal flying machine. A superb value proposition.
Multi-Fuel OptionsÂ
The helicopter can fly on avgas, unleaded mogas, diesel, bio-diesel, Jet-A-1, TS-1, JB-8, JP-8+100, and Paraffin. There’s also a backup electric motor.
Universal Engine Mounts
All four engines share the exact same mounts, so that in practice, powerplants can be interchanged. This allows for unique engine and fuel versatility.
Good Power-To-Weight Ratio
Regardless of the powerplant preference, all the engines produce more than adequate power for peak performance, at all operational altitudes.

Purepowerm JPE04 Hybryd
A four-stroke diesel, four-cylinder piston, in-line, common rail, direct injection system. Turbo charged, liquid cooled, air shut off valve, belt reduction gear, with hybrid electric configuration. Maximum power of 400HP.
Lycoming IO-540 YHIO-540
This 320HP engine was built specifically for the Hummingbird by Lycoming. It’s similar to the reliable AEIO-540-D4C5 aerobatic fuel injected engine, with modifications. Non-turbo and good for lower altitudes.
Adept 320T Turbo
A modern, compact, 120 degree V6 layout, with very ow part count. Lightweight aerospace alloys, and carbon composite airbox. Liquid cooled, FADEC and burns avgas, unleaded auto gas and biofuels. Max 360HP.
RapidSky RT400 Turbine
A 400HP turboprop engine, centrifugal flow, with 1-stage gas generator, and 2-stage free power turbine. Epicyclical gearbox, equipped with oil cooling radiator
Weighing less than 100kg, it’s ideal for helicopter use.
